Dr. Peter Maguire, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Master's degree in Clinical Veterinary Science, diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and New Zealand Registered Specialist, is a 1995 graduate of the Colorado State University (CSU) School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.  Peter also did his Neurology residency training at CSU between 1996-1999, and received a Master’s degree from CSU in Clinical Veterinary Science in 1999.  He became ACVIM board certified in Neurology that same year, and Registered in New Zealand as a veterinary specialist in 2009.

Dr. Maguire has 23 years experience working in referral practice as a board certified neurologist and neurosurgeon, and served an appointment as Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital 2011-2013.  His special interests include spinal surgery and neuroimaging.  He has been doing spinal surgery in dogs and cats since 1997.

He is an avid motorcyclist and fly-fisherman who has also volunteered coaching youth Lacrosse in Grand Junction, Colorado. Pete is married to Krista, a native New Zealander.   Also part of their family are rescued Border Collies Tui and Ella, rescued weaner dog Odin, rescued cat Halo, and horses Pepe, Diego and Eddy—the three amigos.
