Dr. Peter Maguire, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Master's degree in Clinical Veterinary Science, diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and New Zealand Registered Specialist, is a 1995 graduate of the Colorado State University (CSU) School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.  Peter also did his Neurology residency training at CSU between 1996-1999, and received a Master’s degree from CSU in Clinical Veterinary Science in 1999.  He became ACVIM board certified in Neurology that same year, and Registered in New Zealand as a veterinary specialist in 2009.

Dr. Maguire has 18 years experience working in referral practice as a board certified neurologist and neurosurgeon, and recently finished an appointment as Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine Veterinary Teaching Hospital.  His special interests include spinal surgery and neuroimaging.  He has been doing spinal surgery and only spinal surgery in dogs and cats since 1997...20 years.

He is an avid motorcyclist and fly-fisherman who also volunteers coaching youth Lacrosse in Grand Junction, Colorado. Pete is married to Krista, a native New Zealander.   Also part of their family are rescued Border Collies Murphy and Ella, Beethoven the Maine Coon cat, and Pepe and Diego the horses.
